What data we collect
On signup - username, email and password (stored as a hash). On comments and reactions - a link to your account. Technically - anonymised view data for analytics.
How we use it
To personalise your feed, fight spam, understand which materials are useful. We do not sell data to third parties.
Cookies: categories and consent
Necessary cookies (authentication, security) always run. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Yandex Metrica) load only after you consent - on your first visit you see a banner offering "Necessary only" or "Accept all". You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies.
Your rights
Under the personal data legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as GDPR (for EU residents) and CCPA (for California residents), you can request access, correction or deletion of your account and related data, and withdraw consent to processing, by emailing info@awereads.com. Deletion is usually processed within 7 days.
IP addresses and anti-spam
We record IP addresses and a technical device fingerprint to prevent spam, vote manipulation and abuse, including for guests without an account. This data is used only for moderation and platform security.
Storage and data transfers
Data is stored on European servers. Backups are encrypted. All transfers happen over HTTPS only. Analytics providers (Google, Yandex) may process anonymised data on their own servers under their respective privacy policies.
Children
The site is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us data, email info@awereads.com.
Changes
For substantial changes to this policy we will notify registered users by email.
